Multi-contact education system

Education in the Commerce course begins with the selection of a supervising Professor, i.e., Professor in charge of seminars. When a student first enrolls, a supervising Professor is selected based on the student's preferences. The supervising Professor will provide comprehensive advice on the direction of the student's research, taking into consideration the student's specific goals and pursuit of benefits after completing the master's course, previous learning, research results, and abilities. In this graduate school, we believe it is important for each student's knowledge to be developed in an open environment.

The final result of learning and research activities at Graduate School of Commerce will be expressed in the form of a master's thesis. However, what is more important is the process of each student's independent system of knowledge, which is a feature of this course. The original purpose is to develop the ability to construct this knowledge. When studying in this course, students will select courses (specialized courses) that are directly related to the creation of the master's thesis, as well as other courses. Course courses include commerce, business administration, accounting, foreign book reading, and commerce-related law courses. By independently selecting such a wide range of knowledge, the formation of strategic "knowledge" as an individual will be promoted. In other words, students will have contact with knowledge from many courses as individuals, and by editing this knowledge themselves, they will create original strategic knowledge.

How to proceed with study and research

In the course of study and research, students are supported and advised face-to-face in seminar instruction. Each course also values the participatory research and development of "knowledge" in small groups. In both cases, participation through reports and discussions is an important part of the educational process. In order to develop one's own research while participating in classes in this way, it is necessary to develop independent research and investigation skills. In this regard, optimized education is provided in classes on the processes of materials, literature research, problem setting, hypothesis formation, field research, material analysis, and synthesis.
