Pre-application procedures for "Specialized Practical Education and Training Benefits"
To receive the education and training benefit, you must apply in advance (at least one month before the start date of the course).
Please be sure to check the details at your local Hello Work office and complete the procedures in time for the deadline.
- Confirmation of eligibility and payment requirements
Please check whether you are eligible to receive the scholarship as of the start date of your course.
*If you are uncertain, please inquire at your local Hello Work office about the payment requirements. - Pre-training career counselling
Receive pre-training career counseling from a training-compatible career consultant by the time of your pre-application process. - Preparation of documents required for pre-course application
- Education and Training Benefit and Education and Training Support Benefit Eligibility Verification Sheet (distributed at Hello Work)
- Identification and address verification documents (driver's license, etc.)
- Employment insurance certificate
- Notification of extension of the applicable period for education and training benefits (required if the applicable period has been extended)
- 2 photos (3.0cm long x 2.5cm wide)
- Bankbook or cash card of the financial institution to which you wish to make payment
- Submit pre-course application documents to Hello Work

*The counter for educational training benefits is only open on weekdays (Monday to Friday). For details on opening hours and application procedures, please contact the Hello Work office that has jurisdiction over your address.
