To have a good time in the second half of the 21st century (emphasis on motivation, what you like, and new encounters)
Research Themes
In this seminar, we will think about what we should do now to be successful in 2050.
Today's university students are the people who will lead the "second half" of the 21st century. In the future, employment will shrink and self-employed thinking will be important. First, in the seminar, we go out and meet people and fields, develop business ideas, and for that we conduct regular individual interviews and introduce volunteer sites and classes. We aim to do small projects from scratch. Secondly, we consider self-defense in young workers. We learn about work style reforms, but we also learn the need to become competent quickly and the wisdom of visiting your family doctor early in the event of overwork. Thirdly, we read and discuss books and life shifts about the world in 2050. We consider job hunting support and thesis writing to be part of this, and we will do it quite thoroughly.
Activities
Motivation is the most important thing. So, first of all, we conduct multiple interviews based on the cards. We dig into the past to find multiple things that you want to do, and from there, we discover your life work and research theme.
The second is a team competition. I will introduce SCO, a student group that is a group of volunteer students who are planning projects such as revitalizing shopping districts in front of train stations and providing childcare support from scratch, with the aim of fostering creativity, and I will support their activities.
Thirdly, there will be a lecture and discussion on long working hours.
Fourth, read books on topics such as 2050 and think about megatrends.
We consider job hunting and graduation thesis preparation to be part of these activities and provide thorough guidance.

In the Sato seminar, I mainly learn about the impact of AI on society. In the fall semester, I participated in the Thursday AI luncheon hosted by Professor Sato, where I learned about the possibility of applying AI to medical care and neural networks., Hideto Tomabechi's books After watching the TV series "Shocking Future Predictions for 2050" and NHK's "Next World: Our Future," we exchanged opinions and discussed what Japan will be like in the future. We are currently working on a plan to teach children music through programming.

In Sato's seminar, we mainly study labor economics, but we can also study things that interest us. I'm interested in children, and I'm thinking about and researching how to develop children's cafeterias. Also, since there are many current second and third year students who want to learn about children, we are trying to create a "children's club" within the seminar. I think this is a good seminar for students who want to participate in volunteer activities and events involving children, and who want to learn about children.
Takeshi Asahina
I joined Sato's seminar and participated in a project called the "Fukushima Momo Project." I was nervous because I was a second-year student leader, but when I went to the site and talked with the project members, I realized, "Oh, I can do this too." By helping with the reconstruction in Fukushima, I was able to develop not only my communication skills but also my leadership skills. I plan to continue to gain more experience and work hard on the seminar project.

In Sato's seminar, we are learning leadership and motivation with the theme of thinking about society 50 years from now. In addition to that, the seminar is also working on various things such as the Fukushima Moo Moo Project and children's related projects. I am interested in regional revitalization and am thinking about how to liven up the region. When I participated in the project and actually went to the site, I saw a completely different situation, as it has not been covered on TV or in the media recently. We are all trying and testing how to get people to know about the site and spread the word. I would like to try various things so that more people will know about the Fukushima Moo Moo Project.
